Burgertime review - Nintendo Gameboy
The original and highly popular Burgertime appeared in 1981 and is basically very, very similar to this new souped-up version which was released last year.
GAME: Make giant burgers and avoid the baddies in this very weird platform game.

Hankering for a handheld slice of my addiction to Super Burgetime in the arcades whilst holidaying in Torquay in the early nineties, I convinced my mum to buy me Burgertime Deluxe for the Gameboy and while I was initially dissapointed with the title (after the technicoloured sick burp that was Super Burgertime) as a teenager, on reflection (having recently acquired it again through eBay and in my infinite wisdom as 'an adult') its a great little platformer, only ever so slightly updating the original Burgertime arcade game, with super deformed cutesy sprites and a fantastic difficulty curve, rewarding often Pac-Man like, adrenalin fuelled, edge of the seat gaming moments in your attempt to squash those meddlesome ingredients between huge beef patties. With the move set stripped back from the generous pick ups and freedom of Super Burgertime, Burgertime Deluxe lives up to its name, a super refined and often super tense reimagining of the original's winning formula. Get this one to go (do you see what I did there?).
