Bulls Vs Lakers review - Sega Megadrive
Every High School hero in the US of A dreams of playing in one of the big teams of the NBA and taking the trophy in the biggest basketball tournament in the world. This means rubbing shoulders with the likes of Michael "Air" Jordan, "Magic" Johnson and being paid vast amounts for wearing ludicrously expensive trainers.
Now Electronic Arts have recreated this most American of sports in a new sports simulation for the Megadrive. Every effort has been made to include all the rules of the official game like fouls, substitutions and suspensions.
The game offers a variety of play options. You have the choice of one-player, two-players, head-to-head and two players working as a team against a computer opponent.
As well as the 5-on-5 court action, the package includes a seriously large wad of options and stats for you to study and tweak. Players have the option to choose two teams from a list of 18 to play either a single game or to enter the NBA tournament. You can also alter the length of the periods and practice at small town level before playing showtime basketball. At any time you are able to call up a detailed analysis of each player's performance, and make those heart-breaking decisions when someone needs dropping from the team. But then, it's tough at the top so... let's play ball.
