Mr Do review - Nintendo Gameboy

A very original coin-op which along with Dig Dug spawned a whole new genre of underground digging games like Boulderdash.

GAME: Mr Do is trapped underground and must complete each screen by either eating all the strawberries or squashing or shooting all the monsters.

What the Mean Machines staff thought

Players of the original Mr Do! coin-op will be disappointed to find that although this looks and sounds very similar to the coin-op, the programmers haven't quite got the gameplay 100% right - and with a little more playtesting and reference to the original machine it could have been just that. That's not to say it's bad though. Those who don't remember the 1983 coin-op so well will find this a thoroughly enjoyable, fast, frantic and highly addictive game which looks as fresh today as it first did back in '83.
