How this one passed under the Mean Machines radar I'll never know - it stands as one of the finest shooters on the Megadrive. The graphics are stunning - even more so when you consider this was an early MD title - and the action comes thick and fast. Often ignored in favour of the PCE title Spriggan (also by Compile), I actually rate this as the better game of the two. An updated Mega CD version was also forthcoming. This got a US release, but expect to pay a pretty penny for the Japanese original - the boxart is gorgeous, as you would expect. |
