Beating Sega to the punch by quite a margin, NEC entered the CD-ROM arena with their PC Engine console before the 90's had even started. The format took a while to get going, with the first few releases being nothing more than average games with flashy extras, but within the space of a few years PCE owners were enjoying the delights of Dracula X: Rondo of Blood and Y's. The lucky bleeders.
