Issue Summary

"Everything I do...I do it for yoooooooooooooooou..."

Ahem, sorry. Came over all 'Bryan Adams' then. The big movie hit of the year arrives on the NES, but although the game has enough pulling power to be placed on the cover this month, actual coverage is limited to one preview page right at the back of the magazine.

The major event this month was the UK release of the SNES. Nintendo took out a massive five page advert to promote the new console. The machine was a massive success as we know, but back then it was less certain as Sega's successful Megadrive held a huge market share. MM covered this upcoming console war with a head-to-head comparison of the two machines. The verdict was non-committal, as you would expect from a multi-format magazine not wanting to upset half it's readership.

The amazing Zelda: Link to the Past was reviewed in its Japanese form, the team weren't put off by the fact that they didn't have a clue what was going on and awarded the game a stonking 95% regardless.
