Mean Machines Issue 19 - April 1992
![]() |
Issue SummarySeta's excellent F1 Exhaust Heat graces the cover this month - the Mode 7 racer, although simple-looking now, was impressive stuff back then. The gulf between the SNES and the other consoles was becoming all too apparent, with Konami's Contra Spirits scoring a whopping 95%. However it was a bad month for Nintendo's other console. The NES was home to the worst game ever reviewed in Mean Machines - Road Fighter. It scored a laughable 9%. The other games reviewed this month didn't help matters either, but Tradewest's Battletoads managed to salvage something for the NES-owning crowd. The Sega front was rather subdued this month, with no major releases to speak of. Art Alive, Sega's attempt to make the Megadrive a creative tool for stupid kids everywhere, wasn't given a score due to it not being a proper game (although it could be argued that it didn't deserve a score as it looked awful). |
