Issue Summary

Yup, another free gift this month, a totally excellent Sonic the Hedgehog 16 page special edition comic book. Ace, if you were into that kind of thing. More good news came in about Nintendo's launch of the Super Nintendo. Sooner and cheaper as expected! Also pretty entertaining for the Jaz fanboys was Yob's Gossip, a page full of pics from the Mean Machine team having a ball in Abersgwesyn, a remote village somewhere in mid Wales.

On the games front it was the NES public getting spoiled with Star Wars, the game of the film, scoring a whopping 95%, and Smash T.V. the ultra violent coin-op conversion, rated 90%. The first of the Castlevania titles for the Snes received a warm welcome from the Mean Machines team with a 93% score. The series would remain popular for years to come on different gaming platforms. Another legendary games series was just about to reach its finest hour: The Legend of Zelda III for the Snes showed up in the preview pages!
