Mean Machines Issue 14 - November 1991

Mean Machines Issue 14 - November 1991

Issue Summary

A flight sim that's actually good? Say it ain't so! But it was so. F-22 Interceptor was reviewed this month on the Megadrive, and indeed it was a corker.

The most noticeable thing about this month's issue was the small plastic Jazza model stuck to the front. I've since lost mine, but I wish I hadn't - it was a pretty smart freebie. See below for more details (and a photo).

Other games featured in this issue included the awesome Super Ghouls n Ghosts on the SNES (still in import land at this point), Super Kick Off on the Master System and the spooky and kooky Immortal on the Megadrive. No doubt Sega fanboys will be seething at the Shining and the Darkness review - I like the game, but even I can admit that it was a little suspect, even at the time. Thankfully MM can be relied on to give an honest review.

Free Gift

An AMAZING Jazza figure! Easily one of the best covermounted free gifts ever, it allowed MM fans to have their very own Jazza! It even came complete with banners to put on this sign. Genius. A kind chap wishing to be known only as 'Dave' sent me a photo of his Jazza models (yes, you read that right - the spawny git has TWO of them). He's even painted one! Looks pretty smart, too.
