Mean Machines Issue 13 - October 1991

Mean Machines Issue 13 - October 1991

Issue Summary

There's no mistaking the fizzog on this month's issue - Mario's insane stare is rather unsettling, but we'll let him off - Super Mario Brothers 3, reviewed this month, is a fantastic game. As well as a review, there was an interesting and informative 'History of Mario' section. Nice.

With a couple of interesting import reviews this month, the Super NES kept everyone talking. Goeman Warrior (renamed Legend of the Mystical Ninja here in the West) amazed with its mini-games and awesome visuals, whereas Super Tennis was (and some would argue still is) the best videogame representation of the sport ever.

Elsewhere, Sega's dire conversion of arcade classic Outrun disappointed. Thankfully there were other Megadrive gems like Flicky (which looks shit, but isn't) and Thunderforce III.
